WE'RE IN!

We're in the house!
Finally!

OK, it ain't quite done yet - The electrician not turning up on a number of occasions means that the laminate floor in the hall has to wait until January... therefore, I can't bring the PC desk over until then, so I'm in the lounge just now with the kybard on my knee.
There's painting to finish, plastering to touch up, and a load of leccy work still needing done.
But we're in.
I slept here alone on Saturday night, with Kat last night, and Morgan joined us tonight.
WEE bit spooked with her new ( Currently mostly empty :( ) room, but she watched Blade Runner with Kat and I and fell asleep near the end.
Scooped her off to bed, and hopefully she'll 'nooze through.

Still not heard from The Evil One, which is nice.
And Kat's other aunt invited us over for New Year's Day dinner - "Your mother will be there - Is that alright?"
Looks like we might finally beat the old fucker at her own game - Kat's standing up to her, and the family aren't minding.

THANK CHRIST!

Gotta say "Thanks" to everyone who's helped us with the move so far, and to those who have promised to help move stuff over - We hired a van, but only had it for long enough to shift the really big stuff.
Got nowhere to put the rest yet.

T'was an adventure in itself - Kat insisted on joining Dave, me and David in a trip to B&Q after we picked her up from work, so of course I got consigned to the back.
Pitch black, and when we arrived back at the flat, David reversed into a garage.
Just a scrape, but enough to send him into a temper... SO he tried again, and scraped it again.
By the third time, he was so pissed off that he REALLY wasn't paying attention and battered it a good'n - Enough to send me flying the length of the goddamn van, and into the bulkhead finger-first.
Owie.
I heard lots of yelling - I felt sorry for the poor woman he was screaming at for parking in the wrong place.
Turned out to be Mum!

Oops.

That aside, it all went fairly smoothly - Still stressful as hell, but it could be worse.
I STILl maintain that shifting the essentials in one go, and taking our time over the small stuff, packing, moving, and unpacking it gradually, is the best and least stressful way to go about moving between two properties you have access to... But M&D wanna clean the flat up and get it sold ASAP.
Didn;t figure they'd be up for anything major over Xmas, but apparently they wanna break the back of the job that week..
Meh.

So, yeah...
Jam...

Happy, and feel at home for the first time in ages.
Since getting the living room done, Kat also seems happier than I've seen her for a long time.

Now to see about acquiring that plasma TV...
;)
